So Tabata consists of HIIT (High intensity interval training) moves that are done in the intervals of 20 seconds, 10 seconds rest, 20 seconds of the HIIT move again, and so on. However, you can't just half-ass the moves in those 20 seconds. You have to give it your all. You must do as many as you can (of course, without compromising your form). The moves I chose for Tabata were burpees and jumping jacks. Jumping jacks were fine, BUT OH MY GOODNESS BURPEES. At first it wasn't so bad, but after like 3 sets I questioned the existence of my life. I didn't think it was going to be so hard. In my mind, 20 seconds with a 10 second rest didn't sound bad at all. However, it's the fact that you're giving it your all and it's a repeating process makes it killer. The reason that I even wanted to do Tabata training was that I had Dim Sum a couple hours before and felt bad...
Btw look at this wonderful water spinach dish with garlic sauce. This was probably the only vegetable dish at the Dim Sum restaurant. I don't blame them though, I don't think anyone walks into a dim sum place thinking wow, let's get some veggies :D It's more like DUMPLINGSDUMPLINGSDUMPLINGS MAKEITRAINFRIEDRICE. |
So let's go back to my workout, shall we? Lolol. So after the the workout that left me dying a little bit, I took some time to do some abs (planks, crunches, etc). I also started incorporating the kettle bell which has been a pretty good tool for me. It's pretty versatile!
I'll probably create a page for workouts/tips so that you all have an idea of what's going on. Lol 'cause "some abs" and "incorporating kettle bell" is not that great of a description. Comment or send me a message of facebook if you have any specific questions about my workout/diet regimen :)
So here I am, recovering from last night with a light breakfast. Nothing really complex--just papaya (which I ate most of), mango, a boiled egg, and snap pea chips. I also had a cup of cereal before this so I could last till lunchtime haha. I'm also watching Psych, which is one of my favorite shows--even though my love for The Mentalist is much stronger. Well, this pretty much ends my post. Good morning everyone and stay motivated :D |
